Donald Trump is demanding the removal of his portrait at the Colorado State Capitol, claiming it is “purposefully distorted.”
The portrait, painted by Sarah Boardman, hangs alongside other U.S. presidential portraits and has been there since 2019.

Trump criticized Boardman, who had previously painted Barack Obama’s portrait well, saying hers of him was the “worst” and that she must have “lost her talent.”
He also mentioned that many Coloradans have complained about the artwork.

Trump’s criticism comes despite the portrait being displayed for several years, and he’s urging Democratic Governor Jared Polis to take it down.
A spokesperson for Polis expressed surprise, noting that the Capitol features portraits of former presidents and governors as part of its historical artwork.
