Ali MacGraw, born Elizabeth Alice MacGraw on April 1, 1939, rose to fame in Hollywood with her role in Love Story (1970), which made her an international star.
Before acting, she worked as a stylist and model, quickly becoming a prominent figure in the fashion world. After her breakthrough in Love Story, she earned critical acclaim, including an Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe wins.
MacGraw’s personal life was marked by turbulent relationships, including her marriage to producer Robert Evans and an affair with actor Steve McQueen. Their marriage ended in 1978, and she later struggled with addiction and mental health issues, leading her to seek treatment at the Betty Ford Clinic in 1986.
After her acting career waned, MacGraw shifted to interior design and volunteer work. She relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she lives a quieter life, contributing to her community and working on animal rights.
Though she stepped away from Hollywood, she returned briefly to the stage in 2006 and remains open to creative opportunities. Her son, Josh Evans, has pursued a successful career in acting and directing. MacGraw is now focused on family, enjoying time with her loved ones, including her grandson.
