Rick Ross, sometimes styled as Rick Ro$$, is a Grammy-nominated rapper known for hit songs like “Hustlin’,” “Aston Martin Music,” “Diced Pineapples,” “Stay Schemin’” and “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast).” He’s also collaborated with big names like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, French Montana, Nelly, DJ Khaled, T-Pain, Ne-Yo, Wale, Ace Hood and Meek Mill.
Ross, also known as Ricky Rozay and Teflon Don, drew a crowd of more than 39,000 to his New York State Fair performance this past summer, one of the 10 biggest crowds in NYS Fair concert history. Syracuse basketball star Eddie Lampkin Jr. was notably in attendance, enjoying the show from the side of the stage.
Some fairgoers reported hearing gunshots near the Suburban Park stage where Ross was performing, but New York State Police found no evidence of any shooting on the fairgrounds. Ross finished his concert uninterrupted, though the Fair shut down early for the night about 15 minutes later.
Del Lago, about 40 miles west of Syracuse, is the only Upstate New York stop on Ross’ upcoming tour dates. Ross is also scheduled to perform March 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with Omarion, Bow Wow, Lloyd and Plies.
