I blinked. “Owe you? For what? I bought the groceries, cooked, cleaned—everything!”
MIL waved a hand. “That’s not enough.”
Then my husband cleared his throat. “Actually… Since they’re using your savings, I figured I should do something for myself too.”
Dread filled me. “…Do what?”
He grinned. “Buy a motorcycle! I’ve always wanted one!”

But then I exhaled slowly and smiled. “You know what? You’re right. It’s time to give back.”
