Logan Paul ended up storming off his own podcast during a new episode featuring guest Tana Mongeau, creating an awkward moment that quickly drew attention online.
Mongeau, who is also a well-known YouTuber, joined the show for the episode released on November 21, and things started out normally before taking a sharp turn.
However, the conversation eventually approached a subject that Paul has tried hard to move past — the intense backlash he faced over a controversial video he filmed in Japan several years ago.
Back in 2017, Paul and his friends visited Aokigahara, a forest at the base of Mount Fuji that is often referred to as “haunted” because so many people tragically go there to end their lives.
The group reacted with a mix of shock and uncomfortable joking, which was widely condemned as insensitive and disrespectful. The choice to show the man’s body sparked even more outrage.
Paul eventually apologized and said he deeply regretted ever uploading the footage in the first place.
He explained that he felt disappointed and ashamed of his own behavior, and the video was ultimately removed from YouTube after the backlash intensified.
What did Tana Mongeau say on the podcast?
During the episode, Paul was talking about a strongman losing a tug-of-war match to a group of kids, which led to a lighthearted moment before things shifted unexpectedly.
Majlak could be seen signaling to Mongeau, encouraging her to use the mention of rope as a setup to reference Paul’s 2017 scandal, pushing her toward the topic despite its sensitivity.
Paul noticed what was happening, prompting Mongeau to explain herself by saying: “Mike is being really silly right now. ‘Rope’ is a good time for me to make my classic suicide forest joke on Impaulsive, and he [Majlak] tried to lay me up.”
As soon as she brought it up, Paul pushed his microphone aside, covered his face with his hands, and then stood up and walked off the set without saying a word.
Both Mongeau and Majlak burst into laughter while the YouTuber-turned-wrestler left the room, clearly frustrated.
