He was holding hands with another woman. “Brian!” I shouted. He turned around, eyes wide, and immediately dropped her hand. “Ava, what are you doing here?” he stammered.
“I wanted to surprise you, and spend time together in Paris,” I managed to say. But instead of joy, I got a cold response. “This isn’t a good time, Ava. It’s a business trip,” he snapped, snatching my ticket and ripping it apart. “And before you go making assumptions, she’s just a colleague. Go. Home.”
I stood there, crushed. “I thought we were trying to fix things,” I whispered, tears starting to form.
“This was a mistake. Leave,” Brian said, turning away as he grabbed the woman’s hand and walked off. And there I was, sinking to the floor, sobbing against my suitcase. That’s when he found me.
“Are you okay?” a voice asked gently. I looked up to see the kindest eyes I’d ever seen… and a pilot’s uniform. The guy was handsome.
I told him everything. And guess what? He offered me a first-class seat to Paris.
My world crumbled in an airport terminal when I caught my husband, Brian, with another woman. Heartbroken, I was approached by Jack, a kind airline pilot, who offered me a seat to Paris. That flight became the start of an unexpected journey.
In Paris, Jack showed me compassion, helping me heal as we explored the city. When I received a job offer at a prestigious fashion house, Jack encouraged me to pursue it, even though it could complicate our budding relationship. His support revealed the difference between a true partner and a toxic marriage.
Returning to New York, reality set in. Jack and I decided to take things slowly, and I resolved to leave Brian for good. Inspired by my newfound independence and love for adventure, I became an air hostess, embracing a life of freedom and partnership with Jack.
On my first flight, our paths crossed again. As Jack smiled at me, I knew this was the start of our brightest chapter yet.
