Derek Hough recently made a charming confession about Kym Herjavec’s wedding — and it’s got fans grinning. The Dancing with the Stars pro revealed he actually broke a long-standing wedding etiquette rule: he danced before the first dance. “I couldn’t help it,” Derek laughed. “The music started, the vibe was electric, and next thing I knew, I was twirling someone’s aunt.” Kym and Robert didn’t seem to mind — in fact, they loved it. “That’s Derek,” Kym said. “He brings joy wherever he goes.”

Robert and Kym Herjavec Celebrate Nine Years of Marriage

Robert Herjavec and his wife, Kym Herjavec, recently marked their ninth wedding anniversary with heartfelt tributes on Instagram. The couple first met during Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars and have been together ever since.

“Nine years ago today. Our wedding. Our first dance. Our song—‘At Last’ by Etta James,” Robert wrote in his caption. “When Kym and I were eliminated from Dancing With the Stars, we had already prepared one more routine—to that very song. I looked at her and said, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll dance to it someday.’”

“And we did—at our wedding, with Kym singing alongside the incredible Olivia Newton-John, who was kind enough to perform for us. Sometimes your dreams come true… and sometimes, they just keep getting better every year. Happy anniversary, baby. Love you always.”

Fans and friends quickly filled the comments section with well-wishes, including DWTS judge Derek Hough, who shared a humorous memory from the big day.

“Remember that time I posted a video of your wedding even though there was CLEARLY a sign saying not to,” Hough commented.

Any hard feelings seem long gone, as Kym responded to the memory with good humor.

Kym also shared her own tribute to Robert on Instagram, writing:

“Loving you, @robertherjavec, is the easiest thing in the world to do! You literally swept me off my feet and changed my life forever. I love you even more with each passing year. (I can’t believe it’s been 9 years!) How lucky am I to spend my life with you? Happy Anniversary.”
