Calif. Pot Farm Owner Raided By ICE Donated to Newsom, Dems

Records indicate that Graham Farra, the co-founder and president of Glass House Farms, a location where migrant children as young as 14 were discovered working, has donated thousands of dollars to Governor Gavin Newsom and other Democratic officials in the state.

Glass House Farms, located in Ventura County, holds the title of California’s largest cannabis cultivator and was previously recognized as a pioneer in environmentally sustainable cannabis practices.

Last Thursday, ICE agents apprehended 361 undocumented workers, including 14 minors—eight of whom were unaccompanied—during a raid that escalated into violence as protesters confronted law enforcement. One worker tragically lost their life after falling from a greenhouse during the operation.

Farra has made significant contributions to various Democratic candidates and initiatives in California, including a donation of $10,000 to Gavin Newsom’s campaign in 2018.

Campaign finance records indicate that he also contributed to the federal PAC of the Santa Barbara County Democratic Central Committee and to Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-CA). In 2019, the Los Angeles Times reported that Farra was seen presenting a large check to local school officials for a scholarship fund.

“Our focus is on caring for our people and our plants,” Farrar stated in a post on X, as reported by Fox News, before it was deleted by him or another individual.

“Glass House has never knowingly breached any hiring regulations and does not, nor has it ever, employed minors,” the parent company of the farm, Glass House Brands, stated incredulously in a post on X.

Glass House Brands, which was co-founded by Graham Farra and former police officer and educator Kyle Kazan, had a market capitalization of $300 million as of the previous year, as reported by business blogger Alejandro Cremades.

The Los Angeles Times indicated that Kazan is an advocate for President Trump. The company, which promotes itself based on sustainable and ethical practices—including farming that is low in carbon emissions and efficient in water usage—did not provide an immediate response to a request for comment.

Cremades described Farra’s journey in the industry as a “saga of passion, perseverance, and a deep conviction in the beneficial effects of cannabis on both individuals and society.”
